The matcha tea ceremony represents a kind of artistic life, which concentrates on the art forms of tea ceremony, calligraphy and painting, flower Taoism, incense Taoism, and Zen. Matcha, a green tea powder also known as "mocha," originated in the Tang Dynasty. In the Southern Song Dynasty, Zen masters Suen Sen-ichi and Dae-ying were introduced to Japan, and matcha was used in the tea ceremony, which was brewed thick as bean soup and stirred with the brush used in the tea ceremony until a large amount of foam was produced. Finally, they were poured into each bowl and handed to the guest to drink.
For over 500 years, bamboo has been used to create the traditional Japanese tea whisk. Conventional metal whisks leave you with bitter-tasting tea. Artcome honors that tradition using high-quality bamboo to create its authentic matcha tools. Bamboo is harder than maple wood, yet ultra-lightweight, which makes it the perfect resource for Artcome's Matcha tools.
The set includes a matcha whisk, whisk holder, matcha bowl, traditional scoop, tea spoon, tea cloth, bamboo holder, scoop holder, matcha powder caddy, and matcha powder strainer. First, you wipe the matcha tools clean. Use a bamboo scoop to take two or three scoops of matcha from the matcha powder caddy. Filter the matcha powder with the matcha powder strainer, and then crush the larger matcha powder with the traditional scoop. Then, pour the boiling water into the matcha bowl, mix the matcha powder and water with the whisk, and stir to create a fine and dense foam to taste the authentic matcha tea. Slowly stir with a teaspoon and enjoy the traditional matcha tea. After enjoying the matcha tea, fill the matcha bowl with hot water to clean the whisk, and finally, put it on the whisk holder to dry.
Artcome is dedicated to sharing matcha culture's rich history and finely crafted tools with enthusiasts globally, aiming to promote understanding, appreciation, and the health benefits of matcha.
